That escalated quickly. Hamilton’s comments on Burle, Gabeira sure to crash to shore

Well, here we go.

While Laird isn’t really gracious in his comments, his points stand, I think. And, in a world where professional athletes are coached as thoroughly in media handling as they are in zone coverage, it’s refreshing to see an accountable take on what happened this week in Portugal.

In Burle’s defense, there hasn’t been a definitive declaration that he did indeed ride the biggest wave. In fact, as usual, that was media-driven speculation. Nevertheless, Burle did say he was there with the hope of dropping into such a wave.

No doubt things will only grow from here. Twitter war in 3 … 2 …

  1. Laird can be a tool no doubt but I have to agree with him on all accounts…Maya is a charger for sure but she should not have been out in 100 foot waves. And Carlos didn’t “make” that wave in my opinion.

    Regardless Carlos is a charger and deserves serious respect.
